The Food Institute

University of Guelph’s Food Institute was applying to win funding from a federal government program called the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREC). Their goal was to raise awareness of their work and position themselves as the ‘silicon valley’ of food.

After a series of workshops with faculty staff and leadership we gathered remarkable stories at the institute and defined goals for the project. I designed and built a website in Wordpress that featured highly narrative stories, infographics, videos and podcasts.

The Food Institute won a $76.6 million grant from CFREC to pursue a six-year project called Food From Thought — the largest single grant in the university’s history.
